Friday 5

Michelle at Poefusion says:

Friday 5 is a collection of five words which can be found each week (middle column) on this page. If you choose to write a poem or story with these words please leave your comment below.

The words with which she challenged this week are:

birse
jounce
sike
throstle
griseous

Thanks, Michelle!

And I don't know about you, but I wonder where she finds them. My response follows:

As the Sun Drops

her muted warble
enclosed in sparse bent grass
edging the pasture sike,
a griseous leggy throstle
jounced in birse ~
with no sense of dread
without a feel for end

Where does she find them indeed!

This works very nicely, though I find "griseous leggy throstle" is a bit of a mouthful! The last two lines are very powerful and end it beautifully.

Wonderful words - I'm going to be busy with my dictionary! Don't they have a marvelousl Lewis Carroll feel to them?!

Love the sense of freedom you've conveyed. And, who wouldn't love to see the throstle jounce in the grass, listen to it's beautiful voice? Nice job. Have a nice weekend.
