Z for ABC Wednesday

ABC - Z

z starts the zill:  finger cymbals used in belly dancing

My mother and I stepped out of our comfort zone decades ago and took an extra curricular college course to learn belly dancing. I couldn't begin to tell you how much fun we had and how hard we laughed. I must admit, however, that we learned a lot. It looks far simpler than it is and while we took only one semester of belly dancing we ended up with full costumes including zills, pants and music! And, no, I have no idea which carton holds those special touchables.

Have you tried tapping zills?

I don't think it looks particularly easy. I admire you doing that. Maybe my extra poundage would get in the way.

It's supposed to be great exercise! I think you need to find the box where your belly dance costume is stored.

What a fun thing to do with your mom. I love the Z graphic at the beginning of this post.

Wow! That really would be out of my comfort zone! Imagine an overweight, 74 year old, high school principal and pastor's wife doing belly dancing -- no don't! It doesn't bear thinking about!

Yes, I have!!! I even used to own a pair (can't find them now). Although I am ashamed to say, that I did not know that they were called zils.

You are brave to start such a course! It must be very hard to learn, but very interesting and probably great physical training!
I know now what zills are!
Have a great weekend!

I do admire you. I know it's good exercise. I'm sure you ought to get out your costume again and execute a little dance (on video??)

I love the image, like brilliantly coloured streaks of lightning going back and forth.

Belly dancing? Ahem, maybe not now.
