Haiku for Magpie Tales

Tess Kincaid at Magpie Tales offers an enigmatic image each week for a prompt bound to draw words from writers. This is #67, Banquet Scene with a Lute Player by Nicolas Tournier, 1625.

circling stellar flame
spins a limelight for coquette
sweet core of baroque

Well, it happened again - there's no image. Follow the Magpie Link to see the Photo Tess Kincaid used for the prompt. Maybe the image will show up here later. I'm out of answers. :)

So glad you came by QP. I've been out of the loop for some time and it is great to see you. This is a really clever haiku to go along with the painting. I always wondered how they all survived in such dim lighting...:) Would have driven me crazy.

This is an incredible haiku! I love how you play with words. Starlight - limelight (which the coquette immediately takes!) - in the baroque style. Just delicious! Congrats!

Excellent, one of the most distinct responses to the prompt (there are three other works that were truly diverse in this week's gig).

'coquette' and 'baroque' - so fitting for the image.
