Ice Cream for ABC Wednesday

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 6: I is for Intriguing

I is for Ice Cream, or...

homemade strawberry sorbet, from an ice cream maker, served at sunset, after a long turn of the churn and multi-additions of rock salt and ice.

Much moaning and groaning and re-assigning turns took place while we all imagined what was happening inside the pot. The ice cream maker has an electric attachment (unlike the old device that Dad cranked for a long time to produce our special occasion dessert!) but I insisted that the strong bodies were capable of cranking and I was proven right.

The sorbet was ideal and, come nightfall, there wasn't an insomniac in the group.

Do you have an ice cream machine?

This looks yummy. I'd love an ice cream maker - kitchen gadgets call to me and I'm rapidly running out of counter top space!

Does look yummy! No, we don't have an ice cream maker as neither of us eat that much of it. But I remember cranking that ice cream maker at my grandparents house when I was a little girl! Fun memories! Hope you have a great weekend!

that sounds sooo good! I love sorbet, and strawberry...yum! I used my parents icecream maker so much when i was in high school to make soy based ice cream that it eventually broke from overuse, ha! my husband and I have one now but haven't had a chance to use it yet!

Yep, I have an ice cream machine. It's called Central Dairy and I can run right down to my local grocery store and pick up a big tub whenever I have a craving!

Give it another month - a bit more heat - and I'll have one of those :-)

No ice cream machine here, but I think I'll have a look in the freezer :-)

There is nothing like homemade ice cream.
We used to have one. It was a tradition to make some for our 4th of July BBQ. It finally gave up the ghost and somehow we never replaced it. A tradition died.

Nope, I wouldn't dare... I am happy to eat ice cream for every meal, and I'm not talking about a single scoop!

In a way, I have two. My son and daughter can't get enough of the stuff. Having said that, I find a blender and refrigerator does a good enough job. But I'm no connoiseur.

Strawberry sorbet, what bliss. The ice cream vans have just returned to the beach side here so summer must be just round the corner, well apart from the wind break one has put up to the side of the van. We've had a sunny 9 degrees centigrade this week almost time to choose one of the 19 flavours, and strawberry is one of my favourites.

No ice cream maker, but we used to have a butter churn that affected the young ones in the family the same way when it came to cranking it!

Butter was nice, - ice cream looks just scrumptious.

I can always do ice cream, or any variant thereof.

LOL-everyone who posted ice cream for "I" is wicked, wicked, wicked! Oh, and there is nothing better than homemade ice cream. Except maybe home made gelatto! Come to think of it, did any =one use gelatto for "G"?
Have a great week!

I haven't got an ice machine, but that's no problem, for we can buy all kind of ice creams if we want, besides I don't eat much icecreams. Yours looks wonderful!

I should think everyone was ready for ice-cream after all that hard work. I bet it tasted wonderful though.
