sidelong glances

caught her pinky crooked

an amorous potion brewed from
misted ferns that grew like dark fans
bordering the edgy pathways
along the streets of Jack the Ripper
the doorway gaped wide
she flung forth a sparkling smile
fine justice for that tawdry night
