Where for Sunday Scribblings

Sunday Scribblings prompts: Have you ever stood still and scratched your head and said, 'Where in the world?' Is there somewhere in the world you would love to go? Are you looking for someone or something or a place that makes sense to you? Where in the world are you?

X marks the spot. Yes, I am here and seeing the serendipity that rests on this X.

A generation or so ago, others chose this place on the map to avoid being where their X marked a spot. They simply, or maybe not so simply, re-charted it.

Footloose and searching, I've been here and gone, been and gone and returned even after those who chose this X have long since departed this mortal plane.

Because succeeding generations have chosen to stay within driving range, X clings to my bones like a taproot to an oak and I'm almost convinced this is the better X.

For now.

Wherever you go, you are there. May we always learn to bloom wherever the X mark is.

cheers.

Xellently done. I'm not sure where my 'x' is, but I'm sure I'll find it one day :-)

Lucky you and your successive generations - I am currently struggling with mine being so far away... somethings gotta give, and we all know what that is...

Delightful word play; yet the underlying meaning is clear.

I have always moved around so I reckon that it isn't the house that makes the home but the people in it. You are doing alright if you have them nearby too.

I like the way this is written, like the idea of considering where I live to be the place I’ve marked with an X for now. In no place I’ve ever lived have I felt settled, like “this is the place I belong,” yet I would like to experience that. And the X seems to allow for belonging without committing.

Forgive me for not coming by sooner.

I think your blog is spectacular! Your artwork is just beautiful.

X marks the spot. Like a treasure map, but your treasure is where you are.

Thank you for stopping by--it's nice to meet you!
