ABC Wednesday prompts with the letter N. Thank you, Mrs.Nesbitt!
My parents and I were fascinated by Egyptian history and the thrill of seeing the King Tut exhibit in the late 1970's was totally overwhelming.
Mom began ceramic/pottery classes shortly after that and couldn't decide on the perfect colors for her 'Nefertiti'. It stayed default white.
After Mom's death, Nefertiti came to stay with me and has had several plinths as temporary homes but love for my mother and her Nefertiti remain firmly held.
Digital photo by Sue. Nefertiti was photographed on the floor in front of a window. The background was altered in Pixia and Adobe Photoshop Elements to hide the treadmill and window coverings.

A most suitable 'N'. I'm fascinated by ancient Egypt, too.
What a great mememto to have from your mother! I always regret that we didn't go to Chicago to see the King Tut exhibit when it was there a few years ago.
I'm late today...I hope to have an ABC post up later in the afternoon.
Well, that's a cool photo...I'm glad you said how the background was done... it's a beautiful piece to have from your mother...
Very nice treatment for your N post. Your Mother was very talented and I like the honor you gave both the piece and her.
Nice photo,
very nice sculpture (and a beautiful tribute to your mother)
I saw this famous exhibition in Paris !!!!!!!!!!!!!
He looks just about perfect, doesn't he? I was always fascinated by that story!
Great choice for N.....The altered background is really cool! Really sets off the bust.
Nice that you have a momento like that of your mom.
I have always been interested in Egypt since I was a child. I watch every TV special and read books. I guess I should go and visit...
This is a beautiful piece of art with so much value! How lovely to have such a wonderful reminder of your Mom at home. Have a nice day :)
Neat! (Notice the N??)
What a lovely piece and history to go with it.
The statue is the spitting image of Nefertiti! I saw her statue and that of king Tut in Cairo last year November . It's beautiful! Your mum did a great job! Thanks for your visit.
A classic pose, and a lovely memento.
Perfect 'N'! I love the picture and what you've done with it. How lovely to have her as a reminder of your dear mother, too.
'Hide the treadmill'! Ha! You should be proud you have one. Hmm. I need to go make use of mine in a minute.

Nice!
Nubian?
Interesting story about why Nefertiti lives with you. ;-) Good work replacing the original background with a less distracting one.
Thanks for sharing your Nefertiti story. I think she looks perfectly lovely in stark white.
Great 'N' post and some pretty fancy photo-shopping too :) I wish I knew how to do all that stuff, I am such a dummy with technology.
I found the King Tut exhibit fascinating, too. Nefertiti is a great N word!
When I was a young girl....like in my early twenties, I took several art history classes. My art teacher, who was one big, fat, flirt was mildly infatuated with me. He used to tell me I had a Nefertiti neck and a Boticelli belly. Funny thing. I did.
I still have them both come to think of it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I look foward to reading yours as well.
Magnolia
Your mother made that? How brilliant! I must say though, I'm glad it stayed white even if it was by default. You can just fill in the blanks yourself. I love it!
