I empty April into
the basin of yesterdays
ignore its rapid passing
panic grass dots the highway
a blurred and gray horizon
lures me toward tomorrow

I agree with paisley! Emptying April into a basin of yesterdays is a very strong image.
Also the highway luring you toward tomorrow.
Great writing.
BTW, I have already dowloaded your collection. I'm waiting for school to be out to read it.
I think this is one of your best ever! The images are so unique and vivid!
Thanks for the link!
A unique voice. And yes, that first line was brilliant.
It conjures up such a powerful image.
This is such a lovely word picture and your opening lines are awesome!
panic grass dots...what a phrase!
It sure feels good to be back!
I'm at a loss for words. Loved you work.
From the opening line to the lure of tomorrow... great job!
I LOVED "I empty April into
the basin of yesterdays." Rapid indeed!
I felt like I was being tossed into the future.
I have an image of some mystic Indian pouring April into a huge "bottomless"? basin!
Just lovely!
Gemma
Wishing you a horizon that gradually becomes unblurred and less gray :)
I just realized April's rapid passing! Nice one....
Great opening!
Thanks for the heads-up on the poetry downloads. Will check it out!
Blessings,
Linda

Past, present, future came to mind when I read those lines. You're gifted to share your thoughts with words lined in this manner.
