This photo is one of my favorites because I know where it came from, what happened afterward and it still shakes my mind. New technology gives rise to the idea that one can't believe his own eyes. Photo editing software can create whatever the mind can dream.
For example, the upper picture is the initial cropped portion from an original scene. The lower one is the desired portion of the first selection which was then placed on a fractal using the color selection tool to match the fractal color to the boy's shirt.

Not to pretend I'm speedy, this took some great time and many errors but it was well worth it. The fully edited photo was published in I Love Cats Magazine.
Actually, it was one of my first digital photos and one of my first fractals. Sometimes, I think I'm too easily pleased.

Too easily pleased? Certainly not. It's excellent.
Wow, it's beautiful, the colours astonishingly fine. And he's so cute.
Photo editing is grand! Cute shot turned to art, me, I use it for wrinkles and pimples. ;)
It really is a gorgeous, precious photo. Well worth the work, I imagine.
Wow! That's just great.
An excellent photo. It was worth spending time to get the image you desired. It captures the scene perfectly.
Don't you love computers? I know I do, especially when computer magic can make an excellent picture into an even better one, as you vividly illustrate here. And I like the verse too.
No, you're not easily pleased. That's great work, a lovely fluffy haiku and I want to cuddle those two! :)
That is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your art process. It's nice to know the story behind the story. What a precious picture.
your talents are limitless.. this was wonderful
this is simply adorable. You are a talented poet AND photographer? You're amazing Sue!
Sue,
I had to come here first to see what the artist in you had brought forth for our visual enjoyment. You didn't disappoint. the art of the artist is seeing the picture within the larger image, and you do it so well!

Oh that shot just makes me smile and warms my heart. I love it!
Wow! I am so behind in the photo editing department. That was a great shot. And I love kittens, too.
Oh that's fabulous! I can't do that - I'm horrible with photos/ Just look at my scrapbooks! sigh... :)
Photography is a whole new world now that it's digital, isn't it? I didn't enjoy it before -- too expensive, too much risk, too much disappointment when photos didn't "come out." The cropped photo with the blue background is darling.
Wow
You've frozen a perfect moment in time. :)
It was a lovely photograph. Well done.
Oh I love it! You should be pleased with yourself! It speaks volumes.
I love how you truned a photo int0 magic!
And your little haiku fits it perfectly!
I look forward to what you will come up with every week! Unpredictable, as usual - this time very tender and sweet. And I so appreciate your kind comments.
Awesome editing! Thanks for stopping by!
Wow--this is beautiful--the subject and the final result!
oh, this was precious...and you captured that moment in all its innocent perfection.
Adorable photo; great haiku!
I totally don't get the fractal stuff you're talking about, but the picture's fantastic and the haiku is heartwarming. What more do you need?
Lovely picture.
Thanks for sharing this digital editing story.
And congratulations on your new book out!
