Maze for Sunday Whirl

Thanks, Brenda, for the Sunday Whirl!

Ah Maze

storm bolts shook the damp
trapped corners into folds
brought remaining climbers
bundled up and watered

the ash hurtled down
when on that all saint's eve
storm bolts shook the husks
dried and set ablaze

I like the lines:
when on all saint's eve
storm bolts shook the husks
dried and set ablaze.

What a great image! Spooky and fiery, full of the sound of dried corn stalks and husks afire.

The effect is powerful.

I had to read this a few times...
You packed quite a bit in these few lines. My first thought was origami boats on the water...but then the husks a blaze I thought of the movie with the cornfields and secret society that wasn't very nice...

Thanks for your visit.

I got the apocalyptic feeling too as I read. I love the blazing end. :)
