Y for ABC Wednesday

yantra - geometrical diagram designed as a meditation aid. This resembles the definition of mandala combined with mantra. At any rate, I can use all the help I can find for getting my mind into a meditational state and away from monkey mind.

yogibogeybox - materials used by a spiritualist I don't make it up, I just report it. There's not much more fun than words. Those which are rare and encase a giggle are such great finds. Have you ever seen this word?

No, I have never seen that word - but you know that I would google it (and for those who didn't there are several references!) I don't think I could ever say yogibogeybox with a straight face.

I love that word and I love how great it feels saying it: yogibogeybox! Cool.

That word certainly trips off the tongue. I don't think I could say it with a straight face either.
You find the most interesting words. Thanks for exposing me to them.

I do so agree with you about needing help focusing when meditating!! That seems to be the very time my mind lopes off in a dozen different directions all at the same time! Great post for the Y Day! Hope your week is off to a good start!

No - I've never seen nor heard the word until this moment! ha. Doesn't have a thing to do with Yogi Bear?

I haven't seen that word before, - but think it would be a great one to add to ones vocabulary if you could get the pronunciation right - where does the accent fall?

Hildred said...

Well, who would know, anyway???

OK, so I knew yantra but not yogibogeybox! Sounds like a disco dance move, doesn't it???

A language is very much alive. It invents new words and dismisses other words as old fashioned ones. I always like to find out what kind of new words you are sharing with us!Thank you!yogibogeybox is definitely very exciting!

Are you kidding!? I have never seen either one of those words. "Now you kids get away from my YOGIBOGEYBOX, OR I WILL PUT A CURSE ON YOU!!" Hee, Hee.

Thank you so much for two unknown words. I ran off to Google and found a Wikipedia article on "yantra" (a sanskrit word it says) and a website for an electronic band called, yep, "yogibogeybox"......
Great contribution to Y-day!

I've only recently been able to turn off my mind. I don't know how it happened. I didn't use a yantra or a mantra, and I didn't say "om" but it happens now, and it is SO peaceful.
I suspect a yogibogeybox could seriously interfere with meditation, relaxation, or anything else peaceful.

That last one is a great word. I suspect that whatever comes out of that box might sound suspiciously like its name.

Fascinating. Love the word! Maybe I'll research his a bit, the fractal element especially.

I laughed at yogibogeybox! What a great word. I think I'm going to have to find some way to use it all day long in my conversations. :-)
