Sushi for Magpie Tales #55

Magpie Tales 55 Each week Willow posts an enigmatic image to draw out writers' words. This week:

Sushi

fork-pricked flesh
on the wrong side of pane

a nightmarish smear
of yellow and crimson

the cutting edge shifts
from KP to ER

sushi rolls linger
on the wrong side of pain

My mother had an accident like that (involving an avocado not a lemon). I wish I could have put it so nicely!

Such a dilectable take on the prompt... love the shifts from KP to ER, as sushi rolls linger on the wrong side of pain. Nicely done.

I have prepared my fair share of sushi ... preparer, beware indeed.

Nice one! I always watch the sushi chefs with awe as they maniacally slice and dice so quickly and make everything look so beautiful. I wonder how many trips to the ER they have before they perfect their art!

Very good - watch out for that sushi!

The only thing more violent is hot oil. Another reason I never fry anything.

Ouch! Love your use of pane/pain and KP to ER. Reminds me of an incident when I worked in a fast food Chinese diner. It was indeed nightmarish.
Really clever take on the prompt!

So clever as always. I can learn from you.

I prefer watching the chefs than eating the Sushi in real life I recently sat directly opposite one as he did his 'thing'. I'm still alive!

OUCH!! Such "incidents" happen when my dearest is around.. they happen with HIM ofcourse :) I just hang around to tidy up the "mess" :)

Anyway, all the sushi talk is making me hungry now.. :)

Enjoyed your creative take on the prompt... short, but very effective!

I once sliced the top of my finger off, so this one is appreciated on several levels! Great wordplay. Thanks!
