Poem for Big Tent Poetry

Big Tent Poetry offers this prompt: write an alliterative word list, leave it for a couple of days before using it as a springboard for a poem.

a small slip of ivy
the heart of ess
curls round my thumb
fashions a smile
a sense of spring
symbolic and green

the original sin
shaped by an asp
morphs to blood stains
on spreadsheets and
scripts the bottom line
of snakes in the grass

sweet and sensual
serendipitous
curves to a spiral
the siren call
of the seasonal ess
a small slip of ivy

Re-post.
The digital photo displays a copper wire S-twisted and photographed on top of a CD reflecting a window's light. Resized in Irfranview, framed in MS Digital Image Suite.

Your poem really is a work of art. The imagery takes one all over the world and back home again, climbing like the ivy,

poem and picture, perfectly performed.

This is such a "curvy" poem - your words really create the sound of a shape - I don't know how, but it does!

Thank you for your kind comment.
Here's one back: You are an inspired poet.

I scrolled back to where I last visited. Not a dud post among them.

I am going to follow you and would be honoured if could see your way to doing the same for me.

I like the sibilant, sensuous and serpentine nature of this exploration of the most sinuous of the letters!

Lots of S words that didn't make my list, all used beautifully in a very satisfying circular form.

SSS- a snake in the grass hissing. Great imagery for the S word.

Here's my Z poem

hissing with warmth and beauty . . . really good poem. I am left with "shhhhhhhhh."

S often seems like a deceptive letter, with its hissing sibilance, but you've turned it into something downright sultry. Like it. :)
