I for ABC Wednesday

ABC Wednesday offers 'I' for this week's prompt. Thank you!

Icon

a swizzle stick
for those who sing

twisting, tumbling
rolling and drifting stalk

where dreams wind
outside the lines

on trails whistled down
by tumbleweeds

I was thrilled to find a tumbleweed that wasn't stuck in my auto grille...this one banked itself against my older daughter's house. She was stunned to hear me ask if I could take it home to think upon it. I'm sure she feared for my sanity. I'm not worried. Yet. Much.

Hey, great shot, lovely words and my kids have had serious concerns about me and my sanity for years! Like you, I'm not worried. Yet. Much.

Have a great day and don't give sanity another thought, we probably do just as well without it!

Accidental art! Sometimes the best. As to your sanity, my two adult children consider me very odd! But I'd rather be eccentric than dull, wouldn't you!

Lovely colours and composition - accidental nature is so generous. Nice words too.....

Meditating upon a tumbleweed turned out to be a good idea, considering the wonderfully wistful words you have given us on the subject of this weed.

Did you know that the tumbleweed and the thistle are in the same family?

Gotta love it when nature falls into your lap and you can write of your ponderances. I think both pic and poem turned out nicely. Have a great day.

Giving our children something to worry about is surely our duty - payback time ;-))

Lovely tumbleweed!
When my husband and I drive across western Kansas and eastern Colorado I am on the lookout for tummbleweeds. I gather them for my home garden!
I have a vision of a bronze tumble in my front yard......

Lovely combination of words and photo, Tumblewords! Your sanity is fine!

I can see they would be irritating to pick up somewhere on the car, but they are rather lovely, aren't they?

You took the ordinary and made it shine with your camera and words. Love that last stanza!

I'm glad you aren't too worried about what your older daughter thinks. ;-)

Lovely shot of the tumbleweed and I very much like the poem that accompanies the picture.

One never knows where one will find beauty.

I love this. I've never seen a tumbleweed in close-up before. Yes, an icon - even a cliché for those of us who grew up on Western films!

Thanks for your visit. Of course I had to buy that dragon - how could I resist him? ;)

An unusual subject for the post. Creative, too. Thanks for visiting my ABC Wednesday blog!

I'd never seen a tumbleweed up close, very intricate, a good choice for an icon.

Great poem--I love "a swizzle stick for those who sing."

I saw my first tumbleweeds last March while visiting my daughter in Arizona. We happened to be driving from Tucson to Phoenix through one of their infamous dust storms. Scary, though I think I prefer it to Midwest snow storms!
