Yard Sale for Totally Optional Prompts

Totally Optional Prompts offers 'Yard Sale' as the weekly prompt.

they came by car
by truck and bike
searched in vain
for tables clad
in two-for-a-dime
priceless bric-a-brac

the yard didn't sell
its weeds so tall
and flowers so small
one mell of a hess
~ not a single soul
made an offer of cash

My poetry books North of Summer and South of Winter are currently available at Amazon and, as always, available from my LuluBookstore in print or as download.

I came over to see your ABC post, but I read this poem first and couldn't stop chuckling:) It's so funny; is this a new one or in one of your published collections? I'm going to remember this one:)

But great words.

LOL. Maybe you should have had a garage sale instead.

You took a much more lyrical approach than I did!

Yard sale is an excellent prompt. I shall try to use it - eventually. Thanks.

Congrats on the poetry books Sue; I will be checking these out!

Yard sales...don't get me started. I know people who make a small fortune on these, I usually made next to nothing. :<(

Excellent poem! Fortunately, my ne'er do well yard sales have shown a little profit. But, often, the price is still to high when you have to deal with the crowds, hot summer days and niggling. Argh!
