Solstice
when the sun stands still
in a holding pattern
the brooding man in the moon
cocks an eye toward Centaur
sees a cosmic change
created by incoming of man
the season turns on cue
in shadows and crannies
at the dark of this moon
when the sun stands still
in a holding pattern
the brooding man in the moon
cocks an eye toward Centaur
sees a cosmic change
created by incoming of man
the season turns on cue
in shadows and crannies
at the dark of this moon
when the sun stands still

I always enjoy coming and seeing your creative work. Very nice pairing of watercolor and poem.
Love these lines:
the brooding man in the moon
cocks an eye toward Centaur
The things our man in the moon must see. Great poem. It won't be long before the seasons won't turn. I think society as a whole is destroying earth to the point where it can't recover. Hope all is well. Have a great day.
Ya gotta watch it when the Man in the Moon cocks an eye towards Centaur. Things could happen. And probably will!
Thanks!!!
I'm delighted to see you're still creating lovely images with your artistic talents and words. Love the purples in this one and your poem resonates in my mind and heart. I apologize for being absent from visiting ... haven't opened Google Reader in MONTHS and have been primarily engaged with photography rather than writing the past few months. Perhaps one of these days the pendulum will swing back toward the center? Hope all is well with you and yours. I'm delighted to know your poetry books are currently available on Amazon.com. Congratulations ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
I love the last two lines...how majestic a scene they paint.
Your words are amazing!
Bella :)
fill with longings, perhaps of summer?
what a beautiful verse to celebrate the solstice... i am not yet ready for shorter days,, but looking very forward to the long ones while we have them....
Love the first and last line and the imagination working overtime in between. They say that if you look at the sun through a telescope, that that's the last thing you'll see!
I like this a lot. Another good work from you..
