One Single Impression post: Thanks to Laurie at April Wine for this week's prompt, listening.

thumping on the roof
April snow wet and dreary
flung by weary trees

bird trill
heralds daylight
noon nap

The abstract image was created on a Bamboo Fun Tablet with Adobe Photoshop Elements. It reminds me of a woman in a forest listening for words she needs to hear...

Hi Sue -- In your writing this I am supposing that you are tired of the snow, I would be too. It is pretty and romantic if it isn't yours, like the grandkids. visits.
The second is amusing although grown people do take noon naps and are awakened by the birds. I'd rather take mine at about 2:30 PM
..
Noon nap. Hmm. Nice watercolour.
I've heard that first one a lot. Often keeps me awake.
This April morning, these poems speak straight to my heart. We have had no April snow, but the birds have stirred and wakened me. I wouldn't mind a new nap.
I like your interpretation of the image you created. I see what you say; I feel like that woman in that forest.
It isn't hard to imagine even the trees get tired of winter!
Oh my this is just great.
Never heard of a Bamboo Fun tablet before - it looks wonderful [!]
Hi Tumblewords!
Really liked the weary trees and the thump of the very wet snow...felt them! And boy howdy are we all ready for spring!
Thanks for the image, too. Always lovely. Wish you could give me some photoshop lessons...!
Loved everything here! Well done Sue. Hugs, G
A perfect listen (and read). Lovely, Sue.
I see her speaking to birds, but then maybe that is because I talk more than I listen....
Snow, I have to rely on just a few years of memories and your visual words to bring it home with me.
i just loved the first one !! so playful !!
from morning to noon,
just like that.
Excellent sleep cycle.
I love Haiku, you wrote about Aprils wet snow. We got 7" this morning after a warm streak of great weather.
Have a great day! TJ

- - a common thread in ur paintings & writings is a certain 'artistic moodiness'_
counterbalanced by a watchful sense of proportion..many thanks for sharing this ..
I love the line 'flung by weary trees'. Makes me think they're ready for winter to be over too!
The picture made me think of a worm shaking hands with a swamp. I don't know why, but that's what I saw, though when I read your comment, I could see the woman, but the worm beat her to it!
Sorry to hear about your snow, but worked into a great haiku. Heavy rain here,
The trees are probably very weary of the heavy snow dragging them down.
Beautiful work.
nice contrast -- the old winter's last gasp, the springs heralds.
Such vivid word pictures...
Snow is forecast for tomorrow here. But Spring is winning the battle. I love both of these. I love the image of trees tossing snow on the roof.
It looks like you are having great fun on your bamboo tablet! Both your poems are wonderful and take me to the place they speak of~
Soon you will have flowers and green green green of a different kind!
I can't help but think of a light switch when I look at this picture. The figure flicks the switch and light explodes outward.
Trees do fling snow. Enjoyed these Sue.
Wonderful..looks like we have birds & Spring on our minds-
I have to say, I love sleeping while it's raining.
I agree with Amias- I love sleeping during the rain too- so relaxing! And yes- the birds do wake us up very early. Lovely poetry and beautiful image~
