Gift Haiku

set free by the night
present on the wings of dawn
...possibility

aroma escapes
curls into early morning
first cup of java

weekend prize
a giggle, a laugh
family

Three good ones! The first is one I live by.
The second fits today. I accidently made my java too weak this morning, and I have been a little off all day.

Someday, I am going to take watercolor lessons. Yours are so soft and lovely.

Some great feelgood words there. Definitely a gift in themselves.

Love them all, what wonderful insights and "pictures" in so few words - which is the whole point of haiku I guess! Very very nice!

I enjoyed these very much. The last one makes me think of those family moments when an old inside joke is shared. Wonderful stuff. Thanks.

Hi Sue, I'll vote for the second one.
One of my favorite things to do is to lazily wake up at eight in the morning with Mrs. Jim sitting on the edge of the bed with my first coffee of the day.
..
Oh yes, we are retired. :-)
..
And your water color is very pretty.

I liked the last one best! Sort of like serendipitous!

Thank you--as ever--

I really like the first haiku, however I do seriously identify with the second. Thank you for sharing.

I really liked these all - they make a story for me -- the gifts of waking up to a new day with fresh possibilities, fresh coffee and someone in the family has a fresh outlook and a smile! Love it.

The first is so hopeful and light, I can't help but enjoy it immensely. Of course, I'm always up for the last two: coffee and family. Ahhhh.
