Q for ABC Wednesday

Quintessential Spring

Cold winds that drove rain, snow, sleet and hail have kept spring at bay. Tiny leaves and winter's residue  announce the spring which was scheduled to arrive about the same time as usual, give or take a day or two, but hasn't arrived in its full-blown state yet.

When the sun shimmers in a blue sky and the nights release their hold on frost, these bitty leaves will stretch and reach before branches sport small white blossoms and produce the sweetest of raspberries.

I am waiting - indoors with shoes, socks, fleece and hoodies. Has your newest season arrived on time?

Great post for the Q Day! As for us??? We get teased with an almost sunny day or two and then it's back to chill, gray, windy, rainy -- again!! Ah, someday! But at least I now have a great place to watch for it in my new apartment!! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

Quintessential is such a great word! Almost used it for mine, but yours is a much better choice!

Oh, I feel for you. In Britain we've just had the hottest spring in our recorded history.

Here in the southwest, spring arrives with fierce winds. However, most of our days are sunny and warm, so I can't really complain! it is, the quintessential spring for this part of the woods.

REALLY windy, though temperate in upstate NY.

I feel like spring came and went - but the blossoms were -as always - spectacular.

I love the word quintessential, too, but I'm still waiting for Spring to be sprung out here on the bald prairie. Soon, soon, they tell me. In the meantime, I can enjoy photos such as yours.

Not so much, here. It's been very cool (40's Farenheit or less) the past couple of weeks and these past two days were 90 degrees Farenheit!) Yipes!

I hope that you will soon enjoy a real spring, like we are having now!
